A preexisting condition is an injury or illness that was contracted, manifested or incurred on or before the effective date of your pet’s policy. For example, if at enrollment an applicant states, “I would like to enroll my four-year-old cat. He has a history of feline lower urinary tract disease. ” The cat would be enrolled but the urinary tract disease would be preexisting and therefore not covered under his policy.
